| I've never had prescription spectacles and wondered if anyone tin can respond some questions I have: 1) Did you need an opthamologist or is an optometrist adequate? two) Does the DMV require any paperwork from the Dr.? 3) If you went to an optometrist, did they dilate your eyes? (and could you lot drive after?) 4) How long did it take to get your glasses? v) Are contacts allowed for driving, instead of spectacles? I need to renew my driver's license and I doubt I'll pass the centre exam (barely passed information technology four years ago). Since I'm leaving for the summertime in a few weeks, I'd like to avoid failing the test and having to go back again. I don't have eye coverage (volition pay greenbacks) and worry about the dilation because I'll accept to drive myself abode afterwards. | IDK..... I am more than similar yous are at present..... As far as I know the DMV doesn't let you exam with spectacles on.. mayhap the best thing to do is visit the DMV and notice out what criteria they use and seek communication medically after that. |

| I've had bad eyesight all my life - that is until I let myself exist a guinea pig for the laser eye surgery over 20 years ago. I have a scar in my left cornea from a tree branch and an eye dr. told me when I was a child that I have astigmatism in both eyes (though my vision was 20/twenty until the final couple years). I probably demand bifocals. I can read road signs well off in the distance, but can't read a book in front of my face. Lately, I have more trouble seeing at night though. Mac - where practice yous get those sunglasses from? |
I did see an middle dr. form on the DMV website... only I'll telephone call and ask them if I need information technology signed by the eye dr. or not. | The final time i was at the DMV I could not see the line the tester wanted me to read for beans.. he so told me to read the next smaller line and i thought he was nuts, but with my left eye i could. I accept no clue how that worked out.. But i am legal with no spectacles to drive or ride. So I am curious about you lot. Simply in case. That offer i made ii years agone still stands. | I always had to wear spectacles for driving when I lived in FL and it was noted on my FL drivers license. When we moved to NH, I passed the drivers examination without spectacles. However, I commonly still vesture them when I drive, because I practise see better with them (and they also act as sunglasses outside) and in fact, got new lenses put into my old frames nigh six months ago. But I wish I had been smart enough not to become those lenses at the optometrist's function. . . I paid a huge corporeality for something I now know I could have gotten a lotless expensive at a Lens Crafters or Penneys or other place. Live and learn. |
