Pranks to Play on Students
Schools around the nation are gearing upwardly for the new yr. Students are purchasing new backpacks and dress, parents are getting tingly all over in anticipation of quiet houses, older people are empty-headed over the prospect of empty libraries and parks, and teachers are preparing diligently for eager students willing to learn. (Sounds of fingernails beingness dragged across the chalkboard!)
Nope! Teachers are steeling themselves against the onslaught of immature immature people, and aught prepares them more than the thought of a good prank. This article discusses the top ten pranks to play on students!
10. Dude, What Was That Reply?
For an entire menses, give out wrong answers. When I taught geography, I said, "The upper-case letter of Texas is Austin," simply on the board, I wrote, "Texas=Laredo." Then I would get effectually looking at notebooks, wondering who wrote it down incorrectly.
Sometimes y'all can just say the incorrect thing as well, just to confuse students. In German, the language is quite phonetic, and at that place are few exceptions to pronunciation. When my students see English words in German, commonly pronounced exactly equally they are in English language, they merely read them equally they usually would. However, every one time in a while, I'll give them the wrong pronunciation.
For instance, if they read a German sentence with the give-and-take "Mount bike" in it (in German, information technology is Mountainbike, pronounced exactly like in English), I interrupt them and tell them it is pronounced, "Mahn-taeen-ah-beake." They then reread the sentence, correcting themselves, whereby I tell them I was but kidding. For some reason, this is pretty funny to everyone involved!
9. Where Are the Answers?
Make upwardly an extensive word search with about twenty vocabulary words. However, don't actually include any of the vocabulary words. That should go on them busy for a little while.
Of course, about any type of school work would exist fitting for this prank; a quiz with no correct answers, a crossword where the obvious answers don't fit the number of squares, etc. If you've graded a class set of papers by the time one of your smart students figures it out, that's a successful prank!
eight. The Simulated Exam
Direct your students to have a pop quiz. After all the grumbling and the annoyingly whiny "actually?" complaints subside, tell them "April Fools!" or some other excuse why you were merely joking around.
Then make them have the quiz anyway! Don't forget the golden rule of educational activity: If they're upset near having to do piece of work, you're doing something right!
7. Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!
When you lot have nearly ten minutes left, tell them you take a surprise invitee coming. Accept them shut their optics and wait for the surprise. Exit the door and relax for a few minutes before your students realize you left them.
Make it a competition and see if y'all tin cease your unabridged loving cup of java earlier anyone notices. If your blood pressure level lowers five points or more, consider the prank a success.
6. Who's Your Favorite Pupil?
Robert comes into the classroom and as he reaches the door, I joyfully ask, "How's my favorite student doing today?"
"But fine," he cheerfully responds.
"Actually...?" I enquire surprisingly. And then, in a serious tone, I say, "...considering Susie seems to be a little down lately."

Surprisingly, this works on students for weeks!
5. You Take a Life?
This prank can have a year or and then to finish, so be patient. Apply a video camera and interview single senior students out in the hall, using a made-upward controversial topic that students wish to weigh in on.
"And then, Robert, what do you think most prom existence moved from the Hilton Suites to the local agricultural barn?" As the students are making their arguments against the local barn, have teachers move in backside them and dance, make faces, or have posters with positive or funny statements written on them.
Create simple, ten to twenty-2d spots with the unabridged faculty and enough of student interviews. And then show the completed ten-minute video at prom, which takes place at the Hilton and was never really going to exist moved anyway!

4. Extended Time
Two weeks earlier school gets out for summer vacation, tell the students that the school board has extended class for three more weeks to make up for America'due south weak showing on the International Standards Examination. (Just make something up, they won't know the difference. Tell them the results are in and the Japanese "handed it" to them again).
Then hand out a very difficult project that coincidently takes 3 weeks to complete. Recall, the louder the groans and complaints, the better you should be feeling.
iii. What Assignment?
Offset class with a sad expression and tell your class, "I am very disappointed that only a few of you handed in last week's essay." (A few skilful students can add to the enjoyment by letting them in on the joke).
"Hey Robert, I actually capeesh how difficult you worked on that essay, practiced job!" Throw a couple of students some candy and congratulate them on getting an "A" on their tests. Watching the look on their faces is priceless and helps remind you that money isn't everything...power is!
2. Arrested Evolution
We have plenty of students who become on to study criminal justice and work in law enforcement. Having graduated school and now working as a police force officer, John returned to school to talk to some old teachers, as he had business concern in the area. (It's a public school, afterwards all).
John came to run into 1 of his favorite teachers, who had no previous knowledge that he was coming. However, being quick-witted every bit this teacher was, the practical joke played itself out. John walked into the classroom in full uniform and asked, "Are y'all Mr. Teer?"
"Yep, yes I am," responded Mr. Teer timidly and hesitantly.
"Yous need to come with me," the officer stated authoritatively. Equally he grabbed Mr. Teer and moved him against the wall, John searched him and then handcuffed him. Led out of the classroom, Mr. Teer lowered his head in shame.
The students looked around in disbelief, totally tranquillity. Three minutes subsequently, the last bell of the day rang, dismissing the students. Information technology wasn't until the following 24-hour interval, when Mr. Teer walked back into the school, that everyone figured out it was merely a joke. In this small boondocks, I'm certain the master and the superintendent received more than than a few telephone calls that night!
1. Make Time Move
In that location was a student who had a bad habit of sleeping in class. I don't know if he was just lazy or if he had a night job. Regardless, this educatee slept often and securely. His grade was the terminal period of the day, and i day, just to break up the routine, I set the clock ahead nigh thirty minutes and took the whole class correct outside the room, around the hallway.
I and then returned, waited a good infinitesimal or ii, and walked upwards to the pupil. I shook his shoulder and quietly said, "Jaron, the bell rang some time ago; it'due south time to get out."
He looked effectually, pretty confused, and suddenly blurted out, "F&@$, I was supposed to ride the jitney!"
There you have it, the top ten pranks to pull on students. But always retrieve, if students play a prank on a teacher, that's NEVER funny.

We did prank our sub - during some film, when she went to the office, the whole class got up and left the room in a long rectangular building and peered effectually the side to see the startled look on her face when she discovered that the entire class had left! Some other groovy prank was in orchestra course. We all switched instruments - what cacophony! Expert erstwhile days :) :) ;)

One year, my math teacher told us that if nosotros us told the cafeteria lady the code "31,415", we would get free water ice cream. Needless to say, I never got my ice cream.
RobSawyer on May 16, 2013:
My professor told us a good 1 he pulled on the get-go day of class. He had another instructor pretend to be him while the bodily instructor pretended to be a educatee sitting in the course.
Then the simulated instructor starts the lecture maxim something virtually moving at an accelerated pace, where he and then starts teaching textile that no 1 understands, except a few students he has planted data with. So some students are actively answering questions while the residual are completely dumbfounded, eventually the bodily professor raises his hand to ask if he tin motility at a slower pace.
So the false instructor and him end upward getting in an argument where the fake instructor storms out of the classroom maxim something like, "If information technology was any easier y'all could teach information technology yourself!" So and so the actual teacher says, "Well I gauge I could give information technology a shot..." and starts pedagogy the course. I idea information technology was a pretty clever an in depth prank, confusing all of the students who weren't in on the prank.

We totally punked a sub when I was in middle school. The first bell rang and the whole class without a hesitation gathered their stuff and left. If the VP hadn't come out of the part we would have been long gone. Information technology stood me in good stead when I was a sub. You better believe I knew the bell schedules.

I've accept sent many pupils on the search for a 'long wait' in some other instructor's room. They think I am sending them for some physics equipment...Having the other instructor in on the act makes it much more hilarious.
Also the classics such as sending a pupil to get some drinking glass nails/tartan paint etc is usually good for a express mirth.
Bill The netherlands from Olympia, WA on Baronial 24, 2012:
